....is starting from last in the Championship races. Seriously, "The Real Driving Simulator", how often do you see in a race with equal cars someone coming from last to first? And in 3-5 laps? I am thinking especially of the new Red Bull Challenges, it makes it really furstrating, and when you win, you almost think "well that was too easy"
I love this game so far, the physics, the details, the graphics, it's a great game, but this bothers me.

I know in the older ones (GT4) you enter the practice first and that counts as your qualification.

I also hate that every single race is from a rolling start.
Starting in the middle of the pack or near the front from a standing start would also make it far less tempting to just pick the fastest possible car you can. Oh 550PP race? How about a GTR with exactly 550 PP on soft tires. In some races that's the only way to actually win.

Qualifying would be nice sometimes.

Yea I haven't seen a qualifying option like in the former games. Also WHY DOES MY CAR GET SO QUIET WHEN IM NEAR OTHER CARS? That does NOT happen in real life. Not being able to hop from one license test to another is a fail. I think the AI is better and I like the Goodwood events but other than that, this game is falling a little short.

Well with regards to the Red Bull challenges, you are getting the Vettel experience.

I don't know about GT5 or 6 but in 4 the "practice" selection on the race start screen doubles as qualifications.

I'm only on the national A races, but I find running something about 100PP below the limit with whatever tires it came with is enough to win, but you have to work for it.

I usually run at least 50 under the limit, but when you get up to the international events a few of them get a bit more challenging to do so with.
I tried really, really hard to win a 500 (?) PP race at Brands Hatch in an El Camino. I could get 2nd but I couldn't get the extra little bit to take first.

Real Racing 3 does the same thing and it drives me nuts. It basically encourages you to run into other cars/cheat or to upgrade the car completely (yes, I know the latter is how they make money) just so you can win all the time. I mean, I still prefer winning at all costs, but not much skill is involved.

One of the (several) reasons I stopped playing that game. When you're in the back of a 25 car field at narrow as Melborne fuuuuuu...

The Vettel experience would be:
1)Start from First
2) Open 15 sec lead
3)????????
4)Donuts

I find myself buying cars I don't need and driving them in "tests drives" just to fool around with them. If you're looking for a good time, run a GT500 around the 'Ring with no nannies but ABS. I made it around, but was hilariously slow.

That's my other annoyance: can't change cars in a loaded course or race. It's the biggest reason I play online...
